Biography
(1953–)
A widely exhibited Irish artist, Eilis O'Connell has built up her career through a series of public commissions including Cardiff Bay, Newcastle City Council, Lapp's Quay, Cork and Canary Wharf amongst others. The materials she uses, such as bronze and steel, enable O'Connell to make strong organic and natural forms. Her large-scale pieces allow her to escape the confines of the gallery space, and thus reach a wider public audience, where her interest lies.
