Biography
Hume is renowned for his use of a bright colour palette and reduced imagery and will be taking influence from the setting of Roche Court for his new work.
Gary Hume is one of the most vital and interesting artists of his generation, a painter who also makes sculpture. Hume's recent exhibitions includeYard Work at Matthew Marks Gallery and American Tan at White Cube. Both were greeted by outstanding reviews.
Hume represented Great Britain at the Venice Biennale in 1999. Solo exhibitions include the Whitechapel, 1999 and the Irish Museum of modern Art, 2003.
