Biography
James Hopkins creates optical illusions through alterations to everyday objects such as chairs and shelves. Design For Life was included in our 2006 exhibition Still Life and perfectly illustrates the strong element of design that runs through James' work. The Illusion in Magic is the lastest piece James has made for Roche Court, testing viewers perceptions and seeming to defy logic.
James has had solo shows at Cosmic Gallery, Paris, and Rivington Arms, New York, and his work has been included in group shows at Kunstmuseum Thun, Switzerland and James Cohan Gallery, New York. He lives and works in London
