Biography

Maureen Gallace was born in Stamford, Connecticut and completed an MFA at Rutgers University, New Brunswick in 1983. She paints small-scale landscapes, devoid of people, focusing on a small number of elements such as a house, a barn, a boat, shrubs, grass, sky or a country road. The paintings have a dreamlike quality and show us a world hovering between the familiar and the mysterious.

Recent solo exhibitions include, Interim Art, London 2006, The Art Institute of Chicago Museum 2006, Kerlin Gallery, Dublin 2005 and Dallas Museum of Art, 2003. She lives and works in New York.
