David Nash (b.1945) OBE is an internationally renowned artist who works primarily in wood: growing it, cutting it, carving it, and charring it. Since 1967, he has lived and worked in Blaenau Ffestiniog in North Wales, where he keeps and tends a wood full of his organic installations, including the famous Ash Dome, which he planted in 1977, and where, a year later, he carved the Wooden Boulder, which for years floated down the local estuary.

David Nash trained at Kingston College of Art and Chelsea School of Art. He has exhibited globally and has work in over eighty public collections including Tate Gallery, London; Metropolitan Museum of Art, New York; Museum of Contemporary Art, Tokyo and the Art Gallery of Western Australia, Perth.

Selected exhibitions include: Time and Tide, a duo exhibition of prints with Richard Long at Cristea Roberts Gallery in 2025; David Nash: 45 Years of Drawing at Annely Juda Fine Art, London in 2024; and David Nash: Seeing Trees at Oriel Môn, Anglesey, Wales.
