Farm and Estate Manager

Full-time On-site Farm & Estate Manager, (or couple) with generous accommodation

An exciting opportunity has arisen for an ambitious and adaptable Farm & Estate Manager to work with the dedicated team at Roche Court, a private estate near Salisbury, Wiltshire. This is an incredibly varied and rewarding role and we’re seeking a young, dynamic individual, or a couple, with cattle experience looking to utilise their current skillset and expand their repertoire on this fantastic estate.

Roche Court is set in 60 acres of stunning parkland and extensive woodland, it comprises the stunning, listed 19th Century family home and is also home to a herd of 15 pedigree Limousin cattle. 

An appreciation for the arts is a must as this modern estate runs a contemporary art gallery the NewArtCentre, specialising in 20th and 21st century art with resident artists and a sculpture park.  

This is a truly unique opportunity, and we are looking for a unique individual or couple to lead the team - you’ll be hands-on, enthusiastic, full of energy and ideas!


The Role:

The Farm & Estate Manager is central to the continued success of the estate.  The selected individual, or couple will be invaluable to ensuring the smooth running of the park and estate activities, working with the current estate team to inspire and help the estate flourish. 

Main responsibilities:

  • Responsible for the care of a herd of 15 pedigree Limousin Cattle.

  • Manage a small Estate team.

  • Maintenance of the extensive woodland area on the Estate.

  • Maintenance of the Sculpture Park on the Estate.

  • General upkeep of the grounds including fencing, paths and driveways.

  • Maintenance within the house and outbuildings.

  • Estate and house security.

  • Manage vehicle maintenance.

  • Assist with Sculpture Park Activities as required.

 

Skill requirements:

  • Experienced cattleperson with high welfare standards.

  • Chainsaw licence essential.

  • Telehandler licence essential.

  • You must be reliable and trustworthy.

  • Possess a full UK driving licence.

  • Flexible with working days and tasks.

  • Experience in the use and maintenance of garden machinery.

  • Experience in the maintenance of woodland and parkland.

  • Team player and a competent leader.

  • Ability to handle physical tasks.

This role is varied and could be suited to an individual or a couple with one working full-time and one part-time to cover all activities, this can be discussed in detail on interview.
