New Exhibition | Justine Randall Tapestries

Justine Randall, Robert Adams, Philip King and Isaac Witkin’s works in the Gallery at the NewArtCentre, Roche Court Sculpture Park.

This Saturday, the New Art Centre welcomed visitors to experience the wonderfully emotive and skilful tapestries of Justine Randall. The Night Sky Tapestries chart the changes in light and temperature perceived over the course of 24 hrs. Each piece reflects on our altered state of mind; the buzz of the day being over, the silence and solitariness of night takes over. Stillness, quiet, fear and the reflectiveness of solitude are all contained by the properties of Randall’s weaving. Tapestry, being such a tactile medium, is perfect for expressing these visceral emotions. When asked what she wanted the viewers to experience the artist explained: “the power, colour and texture of the woven form and of course the conflicting emotions of night” (Justine Randall).

The Night Sky Exhibition was opened by Amanda Game, who expertly reflected on Randall’s work and the qualities of tapestry. Amanda Game is the Curator of Mary Farmer's estate. Farmer was Head of Fine Art Tapestry at the Royal College of Art, London when Randall studied there.

Randall’s The Night Sky Tapestries are on exhibition in The Gallery, to be concluded in February 2026. To book a visit, or to find out more, please enquire below.
