Remembering Tess Jaray | 1937 - 2026

Tess Jaray's 2021 exhibition, From Piero and other paintings in the Main Gallery.

We were very sad to hear of the passing of Tess Jaray, one of Britain's most distinguished and influential artists. We had a wonderful exhibition of her paintings in 2021, inspired by the work of the 15th-century painter Piero della Francesca and informed, as all her work was, by Jaray's lived experience of the visual world, what she termed as '(the) geometry of human relationships.'

Her work brought immense joy to young and old, and she will be greatly missed.
